Tofa Soifua 2006

Memorable Life Events 2006

  • Going to Sydney - Not going to Sydney: I know I said I could live on a packet of noodles to make this work but thankfully we didn't go. The world of Reinsurance missed out on Jason and the Sydney Fashionistas missed out on my trackky dack styles, sorry luvvies.

  • Tooth Extraction: The only reason I list this as memorable was that I woke up in the middle of the procedure, was absolutely sure of it. Jason thought I was trippin' but when I asked the good dentist he said I was right.

  • The Big C: I thank God for pulling us through this one, you heathens (husband incl.) can roll your eyes all you want. I'm thankful for the following things, Jason managed to get a diagnosis and an operation all within a space of 2 weeks before the Junior Dr's strike and his radiation treatment well before the 8 weeks and before the radiation therapists strike.

  • Moving to American Samoa: Packing a house up and trying to get it livable in the space of 2 weeks was very stressful. But thankfully we made it here safe and well and so did the stuff. Talia and Noah have missed their family and friends, but they have settled in well. Hopefully they'll identify with their Samoan side, Talia tells us she's not Samoan a little bit Spanish and mostly English. Noah on the other hand hasn't any idea of the concept - he's got great pronounciation for his Samoan friends names (Sauto'oto'o). On the whole we are all enjoying the experience.

  • Talia starting School: Our big girl all grown up, I didn't think I'd get teary eyed on the first day but I did, a little. She is enjoying school and comes home with all sorts of questions and concepts that I can't answer like "What's a soul Mom?" better ask your Dad I say. She's developing a Texan accent and uses lots of americanisms e.g. Mom, Trash, Bathroom for toilet and Yes Ma'am. Talia is turning out to be a lot like her Dad in some things at school - academically able in all areas but doesn't like to be wrong and can be defensive and argumentative.

Happy New Year!
