A Samoan Wedding

Talia was a flowergirl at a wedding on Saturday, she had great fun putting on a fancy dress and getting her hair done. She did well walking down the aisle and standing relatively still during the ceremony although there were times when I'd spy her doing some dance moves, arms in the air etc. She may have been moved by the spirit as it was a pentecostal church and lots of other people were moving their hands.


The church service started in pretty good time and the ceremony was fun, lots of funny jokes from the Minister and not too long. The groom sang the bride down the aisle, he had a pretty good voice, not as good as Mark Liu Liu - Afoa but pretty good.


After, we went to a nice hotel for the reception as is usual more people turned up for the reception than the ceremony. There were over 500 people there, just a small wedding in Samoan standards ha ha. I thought it was quite weird how the bride and groom squeezed in their first dance before they got seated and then got to the business of dishing out the 47 tiers of cake to all the VIP's BEFORE we ate. But the reason soon became apparent, because after the meal a lot of people left!

It was a nice wedding and we were all home by 7pm.
