Swimming Carnival

'What's that Jeff? No showboating, not even for swimstars like moi' Noah

Noahpeedo

Just keep swimming...

The children have been attending swimming lessons off and on for the past year with the swimming association. Unfortunately more off of late, due to the job. Today they had a swim meet for all those who wanted to participate, it was mostly for fun, but also a gauge on how their swimming is progressing.

Noah entered the 40m kickboard with floatie (3-6 year). I wouldn't say Noah has that competitive 'eye-of-the-tiger' concentration so it was always going to be for "fun". Noah started off well and the rest of the competitors streaked ahead. In the end it was just him in the pool, and Noah's attention was more on the crowd, then finishing the race. There were a whole lot of kids from school and they were cheering him on, he was doing splashy things with his kickboard and who knows what. He eventually finished the race and later he asked me why everyone was shouting at him.

Talia entered the 40m kickboard and 20m dog paddle and placed second and third. She woke up this morning asking for a big breakfast from McDonalds to give her some energy! She didn't get it, instead Jason cooked her a home made brekky. She did a little better in focussing her attention on the races (could be the age, different temperament) and she enjoyed it.

We stayed and watched our other friends swim, who all did great. It was a great morning, the American Samoa Swimming Association did a good job in organising it.
