Dining Out Samoa Style
Eating out in Samoa is great compared to eating out here in Am. Samoa, the majority of restaurants here are Chinese and not good Chinese at that (no yum char). In Samoa we enjoyed a flat white at the Sydney Side Cafe, and plenty of other good food at the many restaurants we frequented. They even have a curry house in Samoa! Prices in general are high but the variety of food on offer is pretty good for a small island.

Seeing NZ produce and brands on the supermarket shelf made me a little homesick.
For some reason Jason has been wanting Watties spaghetti and sausages and we found a tin, also a packet of toffee pops which was melted a little but still tasted great.
Aside from food it was nice to see some NZ influences, it seems that Samoans in Upolu are rugby mad, every village we passed by from the airport to Apia had a game going on at the malae.
The driving is also akin to Kiwi driving in that when you are crossing a road the cars seem to speed up or don't slow down, either way they're coming at you and fast. In American Samoa at least they will slow down or stop and let you cross the road where ever you might be standing.

The holiday was very enjoyable and now it's back to reality!
