Prison Break

A few weeks ago a taxi driver was stabbed and robbed in the village of Leone by 2 inmates who were out on the town for the night. You might wonder why 2 inmates were out on the town and not in their prison cells doing time, but it is apparently common for prisoners (not just these 2) to leave and come back.

I heard on the radio that there was a hole in the fence the prisoners used to use to go the shops, visit home or just to go out and commit crime. One of the inmates has confessed to the crime and the taxi driver's possesions were found in their cell block.

Makes you wonder about the way the prison is run, no regular head count or security i.e. fix hole in fence, put a lock on front gate, prison guards?

An official from the Police Dept says this:
"Based on what we have discovered so far, we can say that it's not safe anymore, anywhere," said a DPS official. "The scariest thing of all is the fact that this isn't the first time that something like this has happened. As embarrassing as this may be, it has been uncovered and there's nothing we can do about it except let the public know."
