Clean Up Time

Finally I have sorted out my children's toys and books, yippee! It was quite a big job and I have managed to reduce the kid's stuff to a few boxes for now.

Noah didn't have too many things to tidy up, there were minimal pretty pictures or artwork to store/throw away. However there were quite a few broken toy pieces, and a sticky lolly but mainly it was a sorting job, which he had no interest in whatsoever, even with bribery treats. I got Noah to choose which books he wanted to keep on his bookshelf and I was quite surprised to see what he selected. He halved the amount of books he had on his shelf. I did the same thing with Talia and there were very few books she culled. They are very opposite indeed.

Talia's room was quite an effort to set straight - she is our resident hoarder. She wants to keep the broken drum she made in first grade and the egg carton bat missing it's wings from K-5. Thank goodness for large black plastic bags which hold all of the above items and much more. Trying to get Talia to sort and organise in the first place is hard work (as her teacher can attest). She likes to file things away by colour, the way they feel (soft vs. scratchy), how much she loves them, argh! And she has coloured beads which are everywhere! I will never buy beads for a birthday present again - for anyone. So out came the sticker labels and I wonder why I didn't think of this before? She loves it.

Apart from the sorting frenzy, it's been school and Taekwondo. The kids had testing the other day for Taekwondo and I think they did okay.

That's all for now.
